Hehehe!
BTW, test post with Xananews. Blew up my older machine and now on WIN7
so with it's almost unuable newsgreader issues, added this as a test
version. Look ok? Quote ok?

I thought quote issues were with LiveMail. They aren't?
Now you've got me wondering how I'm going to manage with Win7, which
might be as soon as this summer. I thought my old version of Agent
would do just fine (at least that was the scuttlebutt via the Agent NG
a few months ago)

Outlook Express has problems too--there's a patch called "OE-Quotefix"
that addresses them, but it doesn't work for Live Mail.
No reason Agent shouldn't work on Windows 7.

They are. That's what comes with (or you download) for WIN7. I'm fine
with it's action in email, but not on newsgroups.

I don't know if agent will make the leap or not. I do know xananews is
free and working without a hitch. I'm not sure how ti handles a
message that didn't have proper quoting behavior yet, but that will
come in time.

Here is the simple Kansas City style sauce I like to keep handy. I only
use real butter and real maple syrup. Its far more interesting than off
the shelf Kraft type sauces.
* Exported from MasterCook *
Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
1 1/2 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 cups ketchup
3/4 cup chopped onions
3 drops Tabasco sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
3 beef bouillon
1 cup plus 2 T. vinegar
2 1/4 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3/4 cup maple syrup
melt butter and saute onions.
Add remaining ingredients and boil 15 minutes till glossy and thickened.

Good, thanks. I wonder why people insist on sticking with a
newsreader that can't quote properly? That was rhetorical.

Live Mail 2010 version is OK, but the 2011 version sucks for newsgroups.
I'm not upgrading. New computers though, will come with the new version.

three (3) ___?___ beef bouillon what?? Do you think a can or two of
Campbells beef consomme work as a substitute instead, perhaps?

I'm not Goomba, but I interpreted that as meaning three cubes of beef
bouillon. If that's the case, then cans of consomme would be way too much
liquid.

oops. Cubes. 3 beef boullion cubes. And no, stock won't work as you
don't want all that liquid in there to make a thick sauce.

My new HP PC has Win 7 - 64 bit, Agent works even better, its graphics
are much nicer too. I wish Quake made a version compatible with Win 7.

Dunno. As you see elsewhere I found one I like. WIN7 machine, happy
with Livemail for email but using xananews for newsgroups. I've since
noted it will even add the '>' to messages from those 'unquotable'
sorts I had to manually handle before. That isnt perfect though as if
another unquoteable talks to them they all get just one '>' marker.
Best I can do here and no screams. It's freeware and just as easy as
using the livemail but with a few added nice features. like colorized
view of who said what if the threading is right in the message. I'm
still fine tuning it but it's easy.
Oh neat is I can have several 'default' email identities so now in the
pet groups, i can post as 'Daisy-chan' (my cat). I just have to
remember to flip it back to my main one for the other groups.
