Voluntary recall from Swift:
http://www.fsis.usda.gov/News_&_Even...ease/index.asp
WASHINGTON, June 24, 2009 - JBS Swift Beef Company, a Greeley, Colo.,
establishment is recalling approximately 41,280 pounds of beef products
that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7, the U.S. Department of
Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

I wonder why the FDA doesn't have anything on it, it is your food and
drug administration after all, something seems wrong here..

Give it a week for the FDA to figure out what is going on...

There is nothing wrong. It was found by a USDA inspection by it's Food
Safety and Inspection Service because of 24 illnesses in multiple states
not by the fda.

Beef recall? I recall having a really good porterhouse steak last night.
Onions on the side, baked potato and salad.

Yeah, it is kind of basic. USDA controls meat products, FDA controls
dairy and drugs and now tobacco. Hard to believe some of these
otherwise intelligent people haven't figured that one out. Probably
looking at too many of Shelshit's postings, they numb the mind.

The Porterhouse/T-Bone is the crown jewel of beef.. The tenderest
part paired with the best tasting part. Today I'm taking an 1-1/2"
thich sirloin and searing/lightly smoking it with fruitwood. Then I'm
going to grind it, pattyize it into ~1/3# patties and re-refrigerate
it. This evening I'll take them out and grill them.
Corn, and for me a salad, for my wife and son, broccoli.

The FDA doesn't have anything to do with beef. That would be the USDA.

LOL! Fond memories of my Hawaiian childhood include the almost always
burnt exterior of Huli Huli chicken.
