Aluminum can crusher?
Aluminum can crusher?
Got one? Which one?
Wall mounted? Counter mounted?
I'm not up to elbow or forehead crushing anymore.

Wall mounted. I can't remember the brand. We crush the cans and take to
them to the Humane Society who sells them to raise money.

Here in NY there's a 5¢ deposit, I return all deposit containers.
But still I crush empty food cans so they occupy less space in the
recyclables barrel, I lay the can on the door mat and simply step on
it. Even when I lived without deposit containers I crushed everything,
mostly my stomping. Anyways, a real manly brewski guzzler should be
able to shred aluminum cans with their teeth.

Janet,
I didn't know that. Great idea. I'll call them! I just dump them into
the recycling bin at the park.
I would like to reduce the bulk of them.
Best,

Sheldon,
I've got a recycling bin but dragging it up to the curb is a chore. I
just bag them up and dispose of them at the park on the way to the
supermarket.
There's no refund in PA and I'm not about to re-enact the Seinfeld TV
episode!

We have a 5 cent deposit - can't crush them, they have to go through
the recycling machine. Anything with soda in it, anyway....no deposit
on flavored water or any non-soda.

I give them all to a friend of mine to cash in as I don't have time to
drive over to the recycler.
I simply step on them. :-) Works for me and it's free.

Re: Aluminum can crusher?
In the little beach town of Ocean Beach, San Diego, CA, USA, my
enterprising house roommate hired the kids to collect aluminum cans for a
few pennies. He had a scale to make it appear legit. He'd then add lead (?)
nails into them and crush them, making probably 10x the weight. Kept us in
beer. I was NOT a partner in crime, just a proud shareholding beach BUM!!!
The kids were so genuinely industrious running around town for pennies. He
just sat there soaking up the sun. I did too. LOL!!!

It would if they were unopened/full cans. 8-)

I have two. Neither are mounted. One sits on the counter, the other sits
on the floor. I find it is just easier to stomp on them or just crush them
with my hand. They don't get as flat when I use my hand, but it works for
me. We have recycling through the trash collection so I just put them in
the can they provide. They don't care if they're crushed or not.

I've got two. I used them for flattening cans.

I have a wall mounted can crusher. I don't bother with it
anymore as I just switched to two cans/bottles recycle bins
if a month's worth of recyclables doesn't fit in one.

I used to collect them to cash in for an independent rescue person who had
been spending a lot of her own money to help animals. She wasn't 503c but
she didn't let it deter her from doing what she could. I put a message on
freecycle that I'd collect people's cans and come get them. One person gave
them to me already crushed but the rest weren't. I'd spend hours crushing
them with my foot. Took it's toll on my knees.

Need to check your local regulations - Here in Cali-fornicate the recycle
centers are ONLY obligated to pay the CRV (deposit) on 50 units or less per
type 'plastic glass or aluminum cans. Over 50 units they revert to the per
pound price which is about 1/2 to 1/3 the deposit price. Its a rip-off.
Be careful too - you have to say I want the 10 cents per bottle CRV else
they weigh the plastic.

I used to have one mounted on the wall. They don't want cans crushed
anymore for our recycling program. I don't remember why and I don't
care... I just throw them in the bin and they take care of the rest.
