Afraid to eat peanut butter!
I had to buy a new jar of peanut butter because mine was expiring. But now
every day there are at least two new recalls for peanut butter or a peanut
containing product. I am afraid to eat what I have!

Is your jar/manufacturer on the recall list? If not, enjoy!

Not yet. As I said... Every day there are two or three more. So I feel
like I should wait. I am remembering the last recall where most everything
was recalled. Now even some of the organic stuff has been recalled.

I buy sunflower seed butter. Avoids the problem entirely.

What's one more on the list of things you're afraid to eat?

Julie,
One of my regional supermarkets did a recall on peanut butter
just last week. Salmonella was stated as the cause.
It wasn't a market leading brand like Skippy or Jiff.
I bought a jar of Skippy creamy peanut butter last year but
have yet to open it. I bought it as an easy meal during a
power outage.
I think of PB&J as "mouth cement." More time spent brushing,
flossing and gargling than eating!
Best,
Andy

Have you actually thrown away the old jar? (if so, why?) You know that
one is OK.

Don't go outside...the sky is falling. And...there are NOT at least
two recalls for PB everyday!

No, Angela hates sunflower seed butter and throws
it on the floor and in her hair.

maybe that explains the results of the hair tests.
And what an inappropriately chosen name - ANGELA.

Most of the stuff now being recalled is products made with Sunlands
nut butters (also included in recall are cashew, almond, and sesame
butters).
This is a rare recall in that it was announced well before most of the
products had expired. 95% of the time the products being recalled
have already expired or have had ample time to have been eaten. IN
this case the recall affected products manufactured all the way up to
the day before the recall (September 23rd).
But consider that they have had reports of sickness for *4 months*,
and it took them that long to point the finger.
I would have liked to see Walmart get burned again on peanut butter,
but looks like they're OK this time around.

Besides, Julie doesn't buy any products with "sun" in their name. She
once had a bad experience with the sun so now avoids anything "sunny".

Have a neighbor over for crackers, PB and tea. You just eat the crackers.
Wait 24 hours.

But other nut butters were on the list. I buy it too. I just don't like
it.

No. She eats it. I don't.

They are recalling peanut products again at an alarming rate due to
salmonella. I know that you know this because you are the one who listed
where to get the recalls in your in box.

Mine is Artisana. That would never be my first choice but I wanted the
chunky and Target didn't have any smaller jars of it in the more known
brands. I don't eat it very often. Just once in a while.
