So you would have thrown it out regardless of any recalls.

Leave Angela alone, she's not posting any of her likes and dislikes here,
and the post about her throwing it on the floor and in her hair wasn't made
    by Julie.

Leave MaryL alone as she's only replying to what she's seen posted here.

Peanut butter has more aflatoxins than whole or in-shell
peanuts (so-called "table peanuts"), because it often
includes peanuts from batches that have been downgraded
for toxin-producing mold (segregation 3 peanuts) which
are then cleaned and regraded. This is completely legal.
Aflatoxins from moldy peanuts are extremely carcinogenic.
I haven't eaten peanut butter in about 30 years.

My new thing is to mix PB, almond butter, pumpkin seeds and flax
seeds. The PB and almond butter should be ground at the store or
at home (at least my first attempt at using regular PB didn't have
a decent result). Add salt and a tad of sweetener, if desired. I
have kind-of gotten into the gritty texture.

I get the alerts, and not all products had "sun" or "Sunland" in

Yesterday I read someone's comments re Valencia vs Spanish
peanuts. This person claimed that the former were not such a
hazard because they grow in hot arid climates. Unfortunately, I
    dislike Valencia peanuts.

She's responding to a post that wasn't made my Julie. Julie is not the
person that posted... "No, Angela hates sunflower seed butter and throws it
on the floor and in her hair" which MaryL was responding too.

No problem. I'm just overly testy today over an ongoing problem that really
has nothing to do with food. Or actually I guess in some way it does
because it is insulin and I do inject it when I eat. Won't get into it here
though because that would be a novel and not a good one at that.

Well MaryL has apologized for not reading it right. But the other people?
Well that's a who 'nother thing.

Um... Dur! Does ANYONE know how to read here? I bought a new jar. It is
the Artisana brand. Not something I normally buy now although I did buy
some of their things when I was on the raw vegan diet. I wanted a crunchy
style and not a HUGE jar because I only eat it occasionally. I have bought
the Costco sized jars and although a good price, I can not eat that much,
even when I do give one jar to the food bank.

My issue is that they are now recalling sooo many peanut containing products
now and so many different brands that it makes me leery to eat this!

When the last huge peanut recall hit, it did include some of the commonly
purchased brands and a lot of peanut butter filled pretzels. Luckily the
peanut butter I had at the time and the organic pretzels (which were not
very tasty) were not on that list. But I am unsure of this brand.

Yes, I know MaryL is a nice person.

It is next to the microwave. And it can go rancid. I once had a jar that
was not yet expired but it had been opened for a long time. I tried to eat
it and it tasted really bitter and off so I threw it out. Since the jar I
had (and the other one that was in the garage) were both close to expiring,
    I just tossed them.

Sometimes I go through phases when I eat a lot of peanut butter. This isn't
one of them. I am currently eating mainly beans, rice, veggies and somewhat
low fat because of digestion issues. Nut products aren't necessarily
working for me at this point in time, but I would like to keep a jar for
those times when I need to make a quick peanut butter sandwich.

Yes there were. There were at least two in my inbox. And another one for
    mangoes.

Obviously she doesn't. I followed the link that Sqwertz posted and now I
get the recalls in my inbox. But for some reason he seems to get them
    first.
