Default Best Herbs to Start With

I'm planning a modest garden next summer, and I thought it would be a good idea to include some herbs in my plans. Does anyone have any suggestions for a couple different herbs that are generally easy to grow, and very versatile?

Mint would probably be the easiest herb to grow, it's acts more like a weed and spreads itself over any herb garden. If you do plan on growing mint I would suggest keeping it in a separate pot or planting it in a plastic pot in the garden.

I've had success with paisley, chives, rosemary and thyme. Our basil plant hasn't been so lucky though.

I'd suggest taking note of what herbs you use regularly in cooking and trying to grow those.

Basil seems to burn really easily, but I've had luck in it SPROUTING quicker than most herbs. I use it a lot so it's one I like to keep around.

Parsley and mint grows VERY easily so they're great to start with and have many uses.

Otherwise, just depends on your tastes. Herbs are pretty easy.
