    Default Balcony Herb Garden

I have a small balcony which can accommodate herbs in pots, but I am not much of a green thumb. Living in a tropical country, the balcony gets a good amount of sun pretty much throughout the year. Any suggestions on what herbs are easiest to start with?

So far, I have only seen herbs in black plastic bags, which I don't think will last long? Maybe I ought to look some place else. Thing is, I don't know which herbs will thrive in locations such as balconies. :S
