I have the Kitchenaid ice cream attachment for my stand mixer and I'm not happy with the product. It's the type that you place in the freezer a day or two before you make the ice cream, so you don't have to use ice. I had a Cuisinart model that worked the same way and it produced great results. When I purchased my stand mixer, I purchased the Kitchenaid model thinking the results would be just as good or better. I gave my Cuisinart to my daughter........

The problem is it just doesn't 'freeze' the ice cream. It thickens it some, but it just won't freeze like the Cuisinart did. After 20 or 25 minutes in the Cuisinart you could hear the motor strain. I really thought with the stronger motor of the Kitchenaid it would do an even better job. I keep it in the freezer more than long enough (several days) and I've checked the freezer temperature. I just don't think the magical mixture in the bowl is correct or maybe there's not enough of it. It's not near the ice cream maker the Cuisinart was. I've made so great ice cream and sorbets in that thing.

Does anyone here have experience with the Kitchenaid ice cream attachment? Is mine defective or is it just a lesser product that what I'm accustom to? I really want it to work, but if it's not a good product, I'll just replace it with a Cuisinart.....

Thanks.
