The energy in food is released as a result of Chemical Reactions that take place in the body.
The energy in food is measured in unit of heat called calories and be written as kcal.
Food = Energy = Calories (kcal)
Nutrients that are capable of supplying the body with energy are Carbohydrates, Protein & Fat.
