That's different, are you sure it's a cutting board not a serving tray or something else?

I have no idea? I did a search on wood serving trays by riverside and nothing came up. MMmmmm...but it would make a great serving tray

Dont know but could it be for tenderizing. Use a flat wood mallet with the meat laying on top of the spikes. Just a guess.

What you have is a carving board. The pyramids hold the meat up out of the juices and allow the juices to flow out to the perimeter groove. The pyramids also allow your knife edge to go through the meat and not carve on a large area of wood which might create splinters and gouges. This appears to be made from maple and may be from the 60's or 70's.

Maybe for holding a roast in place while it is being sliced or carved.

Looks like there's a moat around the sides to catch the juices from the meat.

looks like a ....its a board to make flat bread with uneven texture, use dough on it and spread it evenly with roller , one side will be smooth and the other checked and uneven, toppings added and micro oven it...LOL
