Thread: Peper Mill; Who Has One?

I actually use one that I saw on the Frugal Gourmet years ago. It is based on a Middle-Eastern coffee grinder and has adjustable settings for coarse to fine grinding. It was made in Greece, but has all the same principles. I wish The Frug were still around.

interesting, I will have to look into this. But grinding it is slightly fresher imo, which makes a lot of difference.

The McCormick Pepper Grinder is really cheap. It's like 15 bucks and, assuming you don't eat black pepper on absolutely everything you consume, it should last a while.

When, after a few years mine did run out, I panicked. The store where I bought mine (Big K) went out of business. I looked all over town and couldn't find one anywhere. So, being single-minded individual I am, I called my mother.

She told me her next door neighbor had gone through a similar ordeal and hadn't had any crushed black pepper for weeks and was notably irritable at the fact. Her son, noting this irritability, got on the internet and actually found a way to refill the McCormick Pepper Grinder!

If you type those words into google you're sure to find it. I know that sounds like a lot for black pepper... but when you want, you want it, right?

Seems real easy.

I bought a Peugeot spent quite a bit on it but it was well worth it. I have had it for over 6 years and it still works the same as the day I bought it. Like one of these. Unfortunately they don't sell mine anymore.

I have an old wooden one from the 70s.

I have about half a dozen mills running around my house.

I'm still trying to figure out how to do an Alton Brown and attach one to a drill....
