Oats give these scones a unique taste. The wedge shape gives them a unique look. Serve warm with butter and honey.
Other: Ingredients:
Time:
1/2 hour
Difficulty:
Easy
Serving Size:
Yield 8 scones
1 1/2 cups Flour
1 Tablespoon Baking powder
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/4 cup Sugar

3/4 cups Oats (quick or old-fashioned), uncooked
1/4 cup Raisins
2/3 cup Milk
Preparation:
Pre-heat the oven to 425.
Instructions:
Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Cut in the shortening until the mixture has a mealy appearance. Mix in the oats and raisins. Slowly mix in the milk. Turn the dough out onto a
floured board. Knead briefly (1 minute). Roll out to about an eight-inch circle that is 1/4-3/8 inch thick. Cut into 8 wedges. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for 12-15 minutes (or until golden brown).
