Applesauce Raisin Bread

This sweet, fruity treat is best served warm with scads of butter!
Other: Ingredients:
Time:
1 1/2 hours
Difficulty:
Easy
Serving Size:
Yeild 1 Loaf
1 cup applesauce
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup sugar
1 3/4 cup flour
1 cup raisins
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 cup chopped nuts, optional
vegetable oil spray
Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
Instructions:
In a large bowl, mix the applesauce, oil and sugar. Add the egg. Mix well.

Sift together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Add to the applesauce mixture. Mix well.

Fold in the raisins and nuts (optional).

Pour into a sprayed 8" x 4" loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
