Two Crozes
Last week I bought a bottle of 2007 Chapoutier Crozes HermitageLes
Meysonniers (price about 14 euro) We enjoyed with firends on a cruise.
The wine was good, better than the free wine on board but without a
lot of depth, short finish and I thought just a tad sour-too much
acidity?
Last night decided to try another version of Crozes from Domaine
Combier this time a 2005. Much fuller in the mouth and with a better,
not much, but slightly longer finish. Fruity and a very nice
accompaniment for ground round.
If choosing I would go for the Dom. Combier, but the price on the
Chapoutier wasn't bad (picked up in a little store in St Malo probably
not the best price in town, but I was craving a little Rhone.

Thanks for the notes, Joseph. I'm not familiar with Dom. Combier, but
my list of Crozes producers is a very short one (Graillot, Belle).
Chapoutier's supposedly been making better wine of late, but I haven't
tried any to verify for myself.
