Sunday Betsy made a delicious lobster bisque, which went well with the 2007Christian Moreau "Les Clos" Chablis Grand Cru. Rich, powerful but not ungainly, good acids, citrus and seashell notes, good length. B+/A-

Labor Day some friends picked us up and we headed to Katonah for dinner in a lovely 200+ yearold farmhouse. . Mutual friends had picked up a load of ribs, potato salad, green beans, etc from an AME Zion church fundraiser, plus hostess did proscuitto with melon, collards, and cornbread. Another guestmade peach pie, and a Czech couple brought strudel. I sampled a few wines:

2007 St Francis Cabernet Sauvignon (Sonoma)
BIg blackcurrant fruit, running a bit hot, sweetness, not a fan but others like a lot. B-/C+

2006 Mustilli "Cesco di Nece" Aglianico (Sant'Agata dei Goti)
Big, tannic, muscular but not tough, beef, leather, and dark fruits. Fruit edges towards uberripeness but it actually has decent acidity. This needs meat or age,.but I like. B+

2005 Ch. La Tour Cordouan (Medoc)
Pleasant, black and red plums, no overt oak. Some light tannins, low acid but not flabby, good length. Never heard of this befofe, but I'm assuming under $15, in which case decent value. B/B-

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine,B a good wine, C mediocre. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice. Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency
