Default Importers whose names are a guarantee of wine quality

Obviously the best method to select a wine before purchasing is to taste it.. However, tasting before buying is not always an option.

I don't pay much attention to a wine's description on the back label, sincethey all seem to lavish praise on the stuff inside even if it is plonk.

However, there is a fairly reliable quality indicator on the label which I do use: the name of the *importer*.

In addition to, for example, Kermit Lynch, Jorge Ordonez and Eric Solomon (I know I am leaving several worthy others out), who are the importers whosename on the label--in your experience--equate to a guarantee that the juice inside the bottle will be of good quality?

    Thanks.

Interesting question, Leo (long time no see!) and one that I've
discussed before. Here's my list of preferred importers:

    Kermit Lynch
    Neal Rosenthal (with certain caveats)
    Louis Dressner
    Jorge Ordoņez
    Skurnik/Theise
    Selection Massale

    and, to a lesser extent:

    Weygandt-Metzler
