Chave and Lewis
We're in Denver on our way to Clark Colorado for a week of riding and
fishing in the mountains at The Home Ranch. One of our sons lives in
Denver and he suggested dinner at Mizuna which was a great pcik. We
started with a bottle of 2003 Chave Hermitage Blanc. Typical Rhone
oily texture. Lovely honey and apricot notes on a huge frame. I had
crsipy sweetbreads for a starter and it was a good match. WIth lamb
chops we had 2007 Lewis Napa Cabernet. Medium bodied and quite
juicy. Fresh blackberry, a bit of black pepper and plenty of cassis.
Still tannic and a bit disjoointed but it may improve in time.
