Default '85 Cos, '00 Pegau, etc.

Met a group for dinner last night mixed bag of dinner wines emerged
from wine bags around the table.

2007 Hanzell Chardonnay-good pear and apple fruit with a bit of gravel
in the background. Well balanced with nice acidity fresh and clean.
Good starter. "B+"

2006 Peter Michael Ma Belle Fille Chardonnay-Ripe white fruit notes
with a bit of white peach and lemon curd and buttered toast on the
finish. "B"

2000 Pegau CdP Cuvee Reservee-Still young and fruit driven. Deep
reddish purple with no signs of age. Slightly barnyardish on the nose
but plenty of ripe plum and red berry aromas with a bit of ganja.
Powerful concentration of flavors on the palate with plenty of cassis
and black plums. "A"

1985 Cos d'Estournel-The bottle was in prime shape and the wine showed
very little age in the glass. Slightly bretty on the nose which blew
off in time leaving a cassis and leather aroma. Sweet red and black
berry fruits plenty of complexity and a firm minerality on the
finish. "A-"
