Mission Carb Balance Tortillas
I don't know what people have been buying, but the Mission Carb Balance
whole wheat tortillas I buy are marked "small - fajita" and are 80
calories each. They habe no transfats or cholesterol. Each tortilla
has 13g carbohydrates and 10g dietary fiber, making it 3 net grams per
tortilla.
I also know that they are DH meter-friendly. We don't eat a lot of them,
but it's nice to enjoy an occasional enchilada or two or a quesodia for
a quick meal. AAMOF, we'll be having spinach and mushroom quesodias for
dinner tonight with a salad.

Re: Mission Carb Balance Tortillas
my system seems to adapt to these things and they will react eventually like
normal carbs
At first they work fine then they bring a delayed spike and eventually a
regular spike as if I ate a non low carb item.
so now if want a taco or tortilla I just eat one regular one and pile the
rest of my plate with lettuce and meat and cheese and eat it as a lettuce
wrap or if I'm lazy a salad..lol

Re: Mission Carb Balance Tortillas
I'll make and have 5 tacos Tue, 30 net gm of carbs from the shells, have
5 more Wed. It's the only time I eat much meat.

How can you eat much meat AND 5 whole tacos?
Watch that *net* carbs figure, too. Plenty of fiber gets digested,
roughly half of it, too.

Re: Mission Carb Balance Tortillas
I'm a growing boy. Long ago I ate 8 tacos at a time.

Re: Mission Carb Balance Tortillas
I get about 1.1 lbs of gr chuck and make 10 tacos with it. I only put
cheese and Taco Bell salsa on them.

Yes. Three is pushing it for me and that's only if they're small and have a
very little meat in them

Sounds like a high carb meal with not much protein, then.

Re: Mission Carb Balance Tortillas
Then you must eat a lb of meat every day.

But I read too fast and miscalculated how much meat/carb your ratio was.
Sorry.

Re: Mission Carb Balance Tortillas
On my blood work normal blood protein is 6.0-8.5, mine is usually in the
6.1-6.5 range, that should be good for my kidneys. I had spaghetti and
meatballs for supper the night before the bloodwork.

And he eats half a pound of protein containing food in just one meal. I
can't see the problem.

I don't think that's what that test is looking for, is it?

I can't even imagine! I have lived with some big eaters. Even they
couldn't eat that many.

Not necessarily. I got those La Tiara taco shells that were very thin and
very low in carbs. I would for sure get more if I could get them locally.
I was very impressed at how they did not break despite being paper thin.

She said she made a boo boo in reading what he wrote.

Re: Mission Carb Balance Tortillas
A lb of ground chuck isn't a lb of protein, it may have about 75 gm tho
or maybe a little more.
