Less than 50g daily here, without deducting fiber.

I can occasionally go over 100, but my typical day is much more likely
to be in the 50-70 range. And, if I go over, it's at lunch or dinner,
never at breakfast.

You need to test to know what you can handle. My meter tells me a
single meal with 50g of carbs is totally out of the question. Are you
testing to determine what your tolerance is?

I usually don't go over 50 per day.

For me it varies. I have two meals of up to 45 g, never over that. One
afternoon snack of about 6 g and a bedtime snack of 15-30 g, unless my BG is
really too high and then I won't have that much.

I eat the number I can tolerate without spiking my bg. That's usually a
total of 50 or less per day.

Are you getting adequate thyroid replacement? Are you getting a
combination medication for it, like Armour or Thyrolar, which tends to
work better?

I use Net_Carbs = Total_Carbs - Fiber - Alcohol_Sugars
I keep my intake to appx 60g/day.
Eat Low Carb foods (incl. EatRite frozen dinners), salads (especially
lunch at work), etc.
This as prescribed by my doctor for my Type-1 Diabetes. I was
presently surprised at loosing 20lbs in the first 2 weeks (several
years ago) on this type of diet.
I have found out that the *amount* of food consumed per meal is just
as important as what you eat. Even a low carb diet can lead to high
BS if you eat too much, which is as expected. In other words, just
because it's low carb food, does not mean you can pig-out.

WOW! Mine's 50-70.
This is why testing is so important. 160 MIGHT be OK for you, or it
might be 2-3 times what you should be eating.

Mine varies but is chosen based on past meter results.
Rarely goes over 140, often under 80.

What does your meter say about that level, an hour after you
eat it? See http://www.alt-support-diabetes.org/new.php

Based on my current med's (4 Metformin a day and 2 shots of slow release
Novolin N Insulin) I could NEVER eat 160g of carbs in a day... I'd be
pushing 300 if I did. A HUGE day for me would be 100g, and even at that I
would be pushing it. My typical day would be 75 or less, and that keeps my
numbers were they should. My last a1c was 5.9
